VTX1800 Air Box & Adapter Install

You Might Find It Necessary Or Handy
To Refer To Your Owners Manual During The Removal Of Your Stock Air Box
System

| 1. Remove seat (2) allen bolts. 2. Remove dash, (7) allen bolts. 3. Remove tank (1) nut and bolt combo in back and (1) bolt in front. Disconnect all lines fuel and vacuum. 4. Remove stock air box, remove ambient air temp sensor and (2)screws from stock air box, to be installed on new performance adapter. 5. Install large new intake adapter to throttle body face. (4) Allen bolts provided. 6. Install ambient air temp sensor to right side of new intake adapter using the same two stock screws you removed earlier. 7. Install new top plate to new intake adapter (4) allen bolts. (included in kit). 8. Install round spacer adapter between air box and new intake adapter plate (not required for all air box installs).Adapter is not included in most kits. 9. Install 90% elbow (included in kit) to bottom of new intake adapter, connect crank case hose to 90% elbow. 10. Install new air intake cleaner (3) allen bolts. (Included in kit). 11. Install tank make sure all lines fuel and vacuum are reconnected. 12. Install dash. 13. Install Seat. The install of these systems require the use of a fuel
monitor such as TFI, PC. Installing this system without the use of fuel
controllers may cause serious damage to motor. All after market air cleaners
are to be used with after market exhaust. |
