VTX1300 Retro Air Box Installation Instructions
You Might Find It Necessary Or Handy To Refer To Your Owners Manual During The Removal Of Your Stock Air Box System.

1. Turn fuel petcock to off position.
2. Remove seat refer to owners manual if needed.
3. Remove gas tank refer to owners manual if needed.
4. Remove intake breather system refer to owners manual if needed.
5. Remove (4) screws from bottom of carb remove float bowl.
6. Remove stock main jet, install new main jet supplied in this kit.
7. Reinstall float bowl/bottom of carb and (4) screws.
8. Install new intake mounting adapter with (3) bolts supplied in this kit.
9. Install L shaped brace to bottom of new adapter, remove rubber grommet from bottom air cleaner mounting bracket. Mount the other end of L shape brace through bracket.
10. Crank case hose needs to be attached to a small crank case filter (not included in this kit). Fresh air hose is removed when installing (coasters) reed valve block off covers.(coaster are not included when purchasing adapter only).
11. Float bowl hose that is originally hanging on left side of carb unattached, needs to be connected to 90% elbow on right side of new intake adapter. (Venting to the intake is to pressurize the float bowl, which prevents the bike from getting fuel lock up on main jet while maintaining highway speeds).
12. Install new intake breather to mounting adapter with (3) bolts supplied in this kit.
13. Reinstall gas tank.
14. Reinstall seat.
15. Turn fuel petcock to on position, check for leaks before starting bike.

(Note all after market air cleaners are to be used with after market exhaust).
