| 1. Remove seat and fuel tank and front frame covers. 2. Remove the two air filter assm. on the right and left side of motor cycle, Pull rectangular from the main air box. 3. Install crank case filter on lower horn bolt on left side. Attach crank case breather hose to filter. (Hose on lower front cylinder). 4. Remove all plumbing and vacuum canisters for reed valve system, Leaving the two lines that are connected to the top of the carb. Follow these lines and either plug them or tie them together. 5. Install reed valve covers (AKA) coasters, or plug hoses. 6. Remove plastic plenum by cutting the lower noise off. Located in the drain area of the plenum. (use hack saw blade or tin snips.) 7. Remove stock rubber snorkels off carbs. Remove four screws located on top of the carbs. Carefully remove the top of the carbs. Removing spring and vacuum slide ass’m. 8. Install jet needles < c-clip should be third groove from the top (flat end of needles) Installing shims on top of c-clip, See jetting info. 9. Install jet needle into slide ass’m and re-install slides install carb top. 10. Remove cover plates from bottom of carb carefully remove bottom cover (2) screws Install main jets provided in each carb (#148 mains.) Re-install covers. 11. Leave float bowl vent lines and plastic T in place (do not plug)! Leave open vented under tank. 12. Install Air filter Pod’s (temporary remove fuel pump) leave all lines and wires attached, install air filter pods on each carb. 13. Re-install fuel pump tank and seat. 14. Turn fuel on and choke. Crank bike for about 30 sec. refill carb float bowls. 15. Start your engine and let bike warm up and adjust idle to 9500 1000 RPM’s (hot curb Idle) Set the idle mix screws. Set at 2 1/2 turns. Access these screws by removing Alum. cover plugs on side of carbs. |
